
Australian Family Migration Visas (Parent Visas)
Eligibility Requirements for Parent Migration Visas
To apply for a parent migration visa, applicants must meet the following conditions:
You must be the parent of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or an eligible New Zealand citizen.
Your child must be settled in Australia (generally having lived in Australia for at least two years) and must act as your sponsor.
You must pass the Balance of Family Test, meaning:
At least half of your children permanently reside in Australia; or
More of your children live permanently in Australia than in any other single country.
You must meet the health and character requirements.
If applying for an Aged Parent visa, you must meet the definition of an “aged parent” under Australian migration law (refer to the Parent Migration Booklet).

Parent Visa (Subclass 103)
Contributory Parent Visa (Subclass 143)
Contributory Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 173)
Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 804)
Contributory Aged Parent Visa (Subclass 864)
Contributory Aged Parent (Temporary) Visa (Subclass 884)
